Maker’s Mark pop-up vending machine

Ah drink. Spending all say in an office makes you want a drink. Going on the tube makes you want a drink. Having a quick drink makes you want another drink. In short, almost everything in London makes you want a drink – or maybe that’s just me. Anyway, for those of you too busy to stop in a bar, but too classy for a can of White Lightening in a brown paper bag then Maker’s Mark provided the perfect solution.
This May they set up temporary vending machines serving a range of bourbon-based cocktails. They popped up in Finsbury Avenue Square, then next to The Fulcrum, that big metal sculpture thing just by Liverpool Street Station, and lastly on Great Eastern Street just near Old Street Station.
The vending machine actually had a well-qualified bartender inside who carefully prepared one of three different drinks for passers-by enclined to tarry. They had Kentucky Champagne (Maker’s Mark with Appletiser) Maker’s & Ginger (with ginger ale) and Maker’s on the rocks (with, um, ice). It was all rather fun and free and a friendly gesture on behalf of the kind folks at Maker’s Mark. Here’s hoping they set one up at every tube station.
