Gluten Free Afternoon Tea at Claridges

Fussy eater’.

This has always been a term that, when used in conjunction with myself, makes me cringe a little. Granted that I may prefer some of the finer things when possible in life, but when it comes to gluten-free food I’ve always been unsure of what side of the fence I’m on. Apparently like 15% of the UK population, I’d rather eat gluten-free products (due to less bloating, tiredness, general yucky feeling), but it’s always been difficult finding a product that’s not only tasty, but equally as accessible. So when I found out about Genius‘ afternoon tea event at Claridges, laying out a spread of gorgeous sandwiches, pastries and savouries – all gluten free – I was sold on taking the taste test.

Luckily for those with intolerances and allergies, Genius have managed to create a product that fits both sides of the bill. With their “yummy hooray!” slogan, chef and all round food lover Lucinda Bruce-Gardyne has found the perfect gluten free loaf recipe. Taking the food world by storm, the Genius brand is now sold in all five major supermarkets and after sampling the various delights, I must say that I’m an instant convert. Sandwiches of deliciously soft bread, the most divine of scones and the sweetest of cakes. I’m almost feeling that I may not want to share my gluten free lifestyle with anyone else just yet. Mmm mmm!

If you like this sort of thing, we think you’ll love our pick of the Top 5 best afternoon tea in London
