Spring has sprung!

Ah, spring is here! The dawn of a new season is upon us; lambs are frolicking, blossoms are on trees and our kitchens should be a lot cleaner than they were in February. Now that the nights are getting lighter, the hours for indulgence are longer too and we’ve stumbled upon the perfect little treat to while away the warm evenings.

Since their return from SXSW, Spoonfed founders Alex and Henry, and our Music Editor Dom Haley have been going on non-stop about a luxury brand of tequila they stumbled across in Texas called Patron.

This Easter don’t let the kids have all the fun, enjoy a grown up treat with Patrón XO Café, an extraordinary blend of ultra premium tequila and the natural essence of the finest coffee.
The Easter treat for big kids is available exclusively at Skylon, or if you can’t pop down try making it for yourself and your guests.
The Recipe
-Dust coco power around the top of the glass
-25ml Patrón XO Café
-Topped with Champagne
The taste of Café XO is dry, not sweet as with most low proof coffee liqueurs. The higher proof brings out the flavour of the coffee essence and the ultra premium tequila. It is excellent for sipping as well as a premium ingredient in a cocktail or as a unique and delicious dessert topping.
The Patrón bottle is unique. Each beautifully designed glass bottle is hand made and individually numbered making every bottle a collectable.

We were at a bit of a loss as to how to get our hands on a ready supply of the stuff over here, but then we discovered that the clever chaps at  Skylon on London’s Southbank have cooked up a limited edition cocktail for their guests.

However, if you can’t pop down there – why not try making it for yourself at home:

The Recipe

  • Dust coco power around the top of the glass
  • 25ml Patrón XO Café
  • Top with Champagne

Enjoy!
