Fight Club in London
Sometimes, us worker drones at Spoonfed wonder how it’d be like to unleash a swinging right hook at someone when he/she least expects it. It’s the sort of fond fantasy that keeps us going on days when the boss man has saddled us with some unspeakably epic task, such as researching the postcodes for 3,000 venues in London while still expecting us to make tea. Tut tut.
So we’re beside ourselves with excitement to hear about what Jameson Irish Whiskey have come up with on October 6: a Fight Club Workshop that teaches participants how to recreate iconic scenes from the 1999 cult film. Ooh, smackdown! For those of you who have been hiding under a rock, Fight Club stars Edward Norton as a nameless soap salesman who is introduced to bloody, bare-knuckled fighting by charismatic psychopath Tyler Durden, played by Brad Pitt. It’s been 10 years since and Jameson are commemorating the film’s anniversary with a day’s worth of action, starting with a stunt workshop led by professional fight choreographers RC-Annie in a Shoreditch warehouse. To make you feel like a proper film star, your moves will even be filmed on camera, with the footage available to take home.
The day then ends with a screening of Fight Club at Village Underground. Oganised by the Jameson Cult Film Club, there’ll be complementary whiskey served by bare-chested bartenders and possible ‘appearances’ by Fight Club characters Tyler Durden and Maria Singer.
How to sign up then? Places at the coveted stunt workshop have to be won in a lottery. E-mail jamesoncultfilmclub@launchgroup.co.uk with your name, age, address and phone number. If you’re picked, you’ll probably have to take a day off work as lessons begin around 9am. Free but limited tickets to the film screening can be obtained here.
Given the limited availability of slots, we recommend keeping this on the down low. After all, the first rule of the Fight Club is that (put on hushed, gravelly voice here) you do not talk about the Fight Club. Right, on that ominous note, it’s back to the tea-making. Cheerio.

Hey, they couldn’t get the rights to screen Fight Club so they’re going with Trainspotting instead.
