Bands You Should See #3 Gentle Friendly

Submitted by Dom on Friday, 21 August 2009One Comment

Gentle Friendly are possibly the best example of musical trial and error, with members David Morris and Daniel Boyle having played in a plethora of bands before settling into their musical niche of experimental electronica. They produce a weird mix of noise, mashing together an invasive drumbeat and some obscure field recordings for a sound that has been described as ‘kaleidoscopic claustrophobia’, whatever that may be…

They occupy the ground between Animal Collective and Final Fantasy, yet are striving to create their own unique sound by combining a myriad of musical genres and stylings. Admittedly their sound can a little raw, but that all adds to their basement-recording charm, right?
