Design your own t-shirt!

Submitted by Spoonfed on Tuesday, 2 June 2009One Comment

Ooh this sounds cool! An opportunity not only to buy wicked t-shirts but also to design your own: sweet. Welsh eco-friendly clothing label howies have set up an online community (or website) called teepay, where you can design a t-shirt and upload it onto the site. If and when enough people order one, it goes to print and gets sent straight to you.

This is cool for a whole host of reasons: firstly, it gives you the chance to buy a design, knowing full well that very few people have the same one. Secondly it means only the right number of t-shirts are printed, so you’re not paying for warehouses full of unwanted t-shirts that are going to get cremated when they’re not bought. Thirdly, you get to realise your fashion design dreams and to see if people like your ideas without the rigmarole of setting up your own company, organising a catwalk show etc…

Fourthly, and most importantly, some of the designs are pretty darned ace! We particularly like the ones added by South Coast t-shirt brand When We Were Kids (pictured). They’re bold and graphic with a slight ‘80s tinge, and they’re kind of witty too. Brilliant! And if you don’t like WWWK’s stuff, then why not see if you can do better?
