Notes from the West Coast

Submitted by Meg on Thursday, 12 February 2009No Comment

Greetings from sunny California! I wanted to introduce myself: I’m Meaghan and I do marketing for Spoonfed. While sun rays, 21 degree weather and the Pacific coastline might not be the usual February view out of the office window for a Spooner, thanks to marvels of modern technology I’ve been working remotely from my hometown near San Francisco, California for the last few weeks before I return to London.

Being away from London has given me a new-found respect for the stellar entertainment scene the city has to offer. San Francisco certainly has its share of historic live music venues (well, historic for a city that was founded about the time London was celebrating it’s 1,700th birthday), popular and underground theatre scenes, clubbing events and my personal favourite, art and science museums. However, since my coworkers have introduced me to some of the best events in their city, somehow the offerings of London have left me spoiled and wanting more. For this, I blame Team Spoonfed entirely. I have gone from a bit of a homebody to a complete entertainment snob!

I’m very fortunate to have the opportunity to jet around the world, and consider myself to be currently living in both London and the San Francisco Bay Area – clearly the two greatest cities in the world. But one thing I didn’t appreciate before joining up with the Spoonfed team was just how much is going on in any given city – and all the exciting events I was missing. Now I look at a trip to a new place, or even a return to a familiar city, as another opportunity to explore the culture and entertainment of my destination.

I can’t wait to get back to London at the end of the month but, to ease the transition… see if you can’t find a bit of sun for me before I get back. ;)
